Fun Shaped Sandwiches & Special Snacks
Fun shaped Sandwiches are so easy to make and the kids just love them. You can buy some shapes at the Dollar Store. I always make the different shapes for each month and theme. You can make these with PB & J or anything. Just get creative with fruits and vegetables. Use different bread (refer to picture below) to make a checkerboard sandwich.
Eggs in Bologna Cups are also easy to make.
Healthy Snacks are so important. I have a very cool Fruit-K-Bob maker. It cuts fruit into either squares or circles and you can alternate different colors of fruit to form a pattern.(see picture below) I also have an Apple
peeler that kids just think is the coolest thing ever.(see picture below) After I peel the skin off, I continue to peel the apple and it makes long twirly apple slices and they think it is the funniest thing to see their apples bounce because I will show them how to hold the top of the slice and bounce it a bit. They will laugh so much. So simple yet truely exciting. They even get to peel the apple themselves. Kids love to help and do things by themselves. They will enjoy their snack alot more when they helped make it.

Checker Board Sandwich
If it looks fun, they'll eat it. If it has colors, they'll eat it! It's all about getting creative with food.
I use to buy Rainbow Bread but I can't find it any more. They loved it. If anyone knows where to find it, let me know.
You can also cut it with the Fun Bites Cutter. Another Awesome invention.

Sticky Stacky Sandwiches (by Superhealthykids.com )
The kids love it when we make the same old boring sandwiches, with a new presentation! Skewering your sandwich ingredients is fast, fun, and for kids who normally don't eat tomatoes on their sandwiches, they just might when it's on a stick!
We've got some
Whole Wheat bread
Cheese (cut with cookie cutters)
Lettuce
Tomato
Turkey
More cheese
and another piece of whole wheat bread.
You can get creative and stack any type of sandwiches this way. The key to making a sandwich healthy for your little ones is to make sure
You are using 100% whole grain bread!
You include a protein (if using lunch meat, watch for sodium content, or cut your own from a home cooked turkey)
good proteins include peanut butter or other nut butters, meat, a bean spread like hummus, etc.)
Include fruits or vegetables!
Vegetables are a great combo with any bean spread or lunch meat. Fruit is great to slice on nut butters.
Stick your finished Sticky Stacky Sandwiches in Styrofoam, put in a flower pot, and use as a centerpiece. Your kids will have fun pulling one out for their mid day meal!

BB & J with grapes (by superhealthykids.com)
According to Wikipidia, the average North American child will consume 1500 PB&J's before graduating high school! This makes it even more important to healthify the classic sandwich!
Replacing sugar infused, commercially prepared peanut butter with homemade nut butters may have the biggest impact on the overall nutrient density of this sandwich. So, how do you healthify this fave?
Replace sugar added jam, with jam prepared with only fruit.
Use whole wheat bread, or homemade bread.
And if you want to go beyond the normal. Here are some other variations on the sandwich kids might like!
Peanut Butter swirl sandwiches (made with whole wheat cinnamon bread, peanut butter and jelly)
Peanut butter and sliced apples on whole wheat bread (Meal Makeover Mom's)
Peanut butter, raisins and banana on whole wheat pita (MMM)
Peanut butter and honey (or agave). We eat these often!
PB&J on a whole wheat waffle
Nut butter and applesauce
Grilled or toasted peanut butter and jelly
Peanut butter and Jelly Truffles
Peanut butter and Nutella
Soy nut butter with berries
A triple decker PB&J- Crust cut off, sliced into squares and skewered!

Ice Cream for Lunch (by kitchenfunwithmy3sons.)
This is a great lunch for the firsof summer of a Food Theme. Tell the kids they can have icecream for lunch and surprise them withthis. My kids will get a kick of it.
I thought it would be fun to make a grilled cheese sandwich and bananas look like ice cream for lunch! You could also cut a cone shaped waffle to make this for breakfast as well! We used 2 pieces of wheat bread, cheese, butter, 1 banana, and 1 strawberry.
We cut the corners off of the bread to shape it like a cone. Save the scraps. We buttered our bread and placed our cheese in between to fit on the bread. Grill it up and place on the plate. Take the crust off of the scraps and pinch off pieces of it to cross on top of the bread. You can skip this, but we thought it looked more like a cone that way.
Take 1 banana and slice it. Pile the slices on the top edge of the bread to look like ice cream. Take a strawberry and cut it to look like a cherry.
This is very easy and the kids loved it!

Simply spread a whole-grain hot dog bun with peanut butter, sprinkle with wheat germ or sunflower seeds, and top with a whole, peeled banana and a squiggle of jam. Add a side of milk to round out the meal. Variation: For a Banana Burrito, substitute a tortilla for the bun.

Banana Hot Dogs + Fries
Banana Hot Dogs + Fries
Need:
Hot Dog Bun
Strawberry Jam
Almond Butter
Banana
Mango
Mango fries. I’ve found the best way to “deal” with mangoes is to peel them with a veggie peeler and then cut off the fruit in big slices. All the criss-cross dicing methods waste too much flesh on the skin and it’s hard to get strips that way.

Bob the Banana in the Kiddie Pool (by Recipes.com)
This is Bob the Banana. You may recognize him from his previous snow tubing adventure. Now it’s summer, and he’s soakin’ up the sun in his kiddie pool (with the safety of his floaties, of course!). Take it from me: a kiddie pool can go a long way to keeping a mom sane during the summer. Overlook the grass-covered bottom of the pool, the soaked diaper (because you forgot to buy swimmers), and the streaks of sun screen on your child’s back. Pour yourself a glass of iced tea and enjoy the pure happiness this simple ankle-deep oasis brings to your little ones.
What You’ll Need:
1 slice of watermelon
blueberries
banana
grapes
1 Cheerio or other round-shaped cereal
1 pretzel stick
To Make Bob the Banana in a Kiddie Pool:
Use a glass or cup to cut two circles out of the watermelon. Use a smaller glass or cup to cut out smaller circles in each large watermelon circle. Wrap the watermelon rings in a paper towel to soak up the extra moisture. Stack rings on top of each other on a plate. Cut the banana in half and put one half inside the watermelon rings, pointed side down. Fill space around banana with blueberries. Slice a purple grape. Pat two grape slices dry with a paper towel or a napkin. (They should stick to the banana if they are dry; if not, use a dab of peanut butter to “glue” the eyes on.) Cut Cheerio in half for the smile and put in place. Cut a green grape in half for the floaties, and break pretzel stick in half for the arms. Stick one grape half on each half of the pretzel stick, and gently press each stick into the banana.

Light Monte Cristo Sandwich Recipe (by ladybehindthecurtain.com)
Light Monte Cristo Sandwich Recipe
Normally a Monte Cristo Sandwich is fried.
Ingredients (for 3 sandwiches)
6 slices of bread
2 cups shredded cheese (I used Gouda)
1/4 pound each sliced deli meats (I used turkey and ham)
1 tablespoon plus more for sandwiches Dijon mustard
2 eggs
1 cup milk
cooking spray
Directions
Heat your waffle iron. While the waffle iron is heating up. Make your sandwiches. If your bread slices are too large trim them down to fit your waffle iron. Mix together the eggs, milk and 1 tablespoon of Dijon mustard.
Spread some Dijon mustard on one side of one slice of bread per sandwich.
Layer cheese, turkey, ham, more cheese, place top slice of bread on sandwich and press down.
Once sandwiches are made, dip each side of the sandwich into the egg mixture and place on your preheated waffle maker. If your waffle maker will not close place a heavy object on top. Cook until the bread has browned and the cheese is melted.

Colorful Wraps
Change it up a little bit by adding some color. Use Spinach tortillas and/or tomato basil tortillas,
By just changing the flavor of the wrap, and it being fun colors, the kids will love to eat them. You don't have to tell them what the flavors are, just call them colorful wraps or rainbow wraps. Once you tell them the flavors like spinach, they tend to shy away.
California Roll-Ups (by EveryDay Artists)
Spinach tortillas and/or tomato basil tortillas, large size
Ranch dressing
Smoked turkey slices
Shredded cheddar cheese
Bacon, cooked and crumbled
Lettuce, shredded or small pieces, like spring mix
Scallions, sliced
Avocado, sliced
Ranch dressing
Spread a thin layer of ranch dressing on each tortilla.
Layer on turkey, cheese, bacon, lettuce, scallions, and avocado.
Roll up tight.
For best results, wrap the rolls tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate for a few hours before slicing into 1” slices.
Recipe Notes:
- A nice variation is to spread a layer of soft vegetable cream cheese on the tortillas first, then layer the other ingredients, with ranch dressing drizzled over at the end.
- It's not absolutely necessary to make these ahead of time and refrigerate, but it makes the slicing much easier.

Taco Roll-Ups
These flavorful roll-ups will become a family favorite that grows with your kids' tastes -- teenagers might choose to spice theirs with jalapenos.
What you'll need
1 pound lean ground beef
1/2 to 1 (1.25-ounce) package taco seasoning mix
1/2 cup water
1 (16-ounce) can refried beans
6 (10-inch) flour tortillas
1/2 cup salsa
3/4 cup shredded cheddar, Monterey Jack, or Mexican cheese blend
How to make it
Crumble the ground beef into a large skillet and brown over medium-high heat. When the meat is cooked (about 10 minutes), drain the fat. Add the taco seasoning and water, then stir and simmer the mixture for 3 minutes. Turn off the heat and stir in the refried beans.
To give the filling a smooth consistency, pour the beef mixture into a blender. With 4 or 5 short pulses, eliminate any large chunks from the mix.
For each wrap, heat a tortilla in the microwave for 10 seconds. Spread about 1/2 cup of the beef mixture evenly over it, then top with a layer of salsa and cheese. Roll it up and tuck in the ends.
Tightly cover each sandwich in plastic wrap and refrigerate for up to 24 hours. Cut in half at serving time. Makes 6 roll-ups.

Cheese & Cracker Dumbbells
Officially called "Pizza Dumbbell Lunch Combo" by Pillsbury.
10 (1/2-inch) cubes hard salami or Ham
10 thin pretzel sticks
1/4 cup pizza sauce
1/3 cup colby-Monterey Jack cheese blend cubes (from 7.5-oz. pkg.)
1 orange
*When I made this last time I used only cheese bites (from Kraft) and the kids loved it. They like to pretend they are working out with the dumbbells like Mom & Dad do at the gym. It is so cute and precious.
One of my kids asked me one day, while we were out on a field trip at the zoo, "When are we eating dumbbells again?" The looks we got from strangers was quite amusing.

Dirt Cups
2 cups of cold milk
1 package (4 serving size) instant pudding (chocolate flavor)
3-1/2 cups (8 ounce container) whipped topping, thawed
1 package (16 ounces) chocolate sandwich cookies (crush them into tiny pieces in a plastic bag)
Gummy worms
Clear cups
Cooking Instructions
Pour the milk into the mixing bowl and add the pudding mix. Beat with the wire whisk until well blended (about two minutes). Let pudding stand for five minutes. Stir whippped topping and 1/2 of the crushed cookies into the pudding (very gently) with rubber scraper until mixture is all the same color. Place about 1 tablespoon of the remaining crushed cookies into the bottom of each cup.
Fill cups about 3/4 full with pudding mixture. Top each cup with the rest of the crushed cookies. Add gummy worms to decorate. Put cups into the refrigerator for about one hour to chill them-- and enjoy!
This is also a great Birthday Party Snack. I have done this with a large sand pail and shovel (new of course), great decoration as well. Looks cool. Just place small dishes next to the pail and everyone can help themselves.

Two-Toned Sandwich (We call them "Colored" Sandwiches)
Ingredients
2 slices of bread (one white and the other whole wheat, roughly the same size)
Cookie cutters, 1 large and 1 small (ours measure 3 1/4 inches for the hand and 1 1/2 inches for the heart)
Instructions
Set the 2 slices of bread on a cutting board. Cut out the centers of each with a large and a small cookie cutter.
Swap the center cutouts, so the wheat bread has a white bread design and the white has the wheat, then assemble your sandwich.
http://familyfun.go.com/recipes/two-tone-sandwiches-686908/
This is very cool but I found it hard to do, maybe it was just my bread, not sure, but the kids love it, so it's worth the time and effort.

Faux French Fries (Family Fun recipe)
I have not tried this yet, but I will soon and let you know how it was. It looks like fun food. I think the kids will absolutely love this.
Ingredients
1 package of plain, prepared breadstick dough
Kitchen scissors
Sugar
White envelope
Seedless strawberry jam
Instructions:
Begin by unrolling the dough and separating the breadsticks. Use kitchen scissors to cut them into 1/4-inch-wide sticks.
Roll all the sticks in sugar, then bake them on a cookie sheet according to the package directions or until golden brown (ours took about 8 minutes). Leave them on the tray until they're cool.
Make this mix-up even more fun by putting the fries in a fast-food fry sleeve (the cutoff end of a sealed envelope; ours was 2 1/2 inches deep) and serving them with a side of "ketchup" (jam whisked with a fork to a smooth consistency).

Tuna Triangles
Ingredients
1 (12-oz.) can Tuna in Water drained and flaked
1 cup shreaded cheddar cheese
2 tablespoons Ranch dressing
1 can (8oz) refrigerated cresent roll dough
(I need things to be quick and simple when I have day care children at play, so I have used cresent rolls, layed out each triangle, filled and used another cresent roll ontop and sealed by pressing fork around edge. Quick and easy)
Directions
Preheat oven to 375*.
Combine tuna, cheese and dressing. Separate cresent dough into four rectangles. On an ungreased baking sheet, press each rectangle to about 4" x 8". Cut each rectangle in half to form eight squares. Mound tuna mixture on a diagonal half of each square, leaving a 1/2" border around the filling. Fold dough squares in half to form triangles, press edges with fork to seal, and cut a slit in top. Bake for
14 to 16 minutes until golden brown. Makes four servings.
Transportation
Traffic Light Snack
(makinglearningfun.com)
Excellent to make for Transportation Theme. And the older kids, (3's & 4's) can make it themselves, they will Definitely eat it when they have made it themselves. They learning to follow direction and their colors with this snack.
You can also make this with frosting instead of PB,
not as healthy though.

Apple Car
Another fun Transportation idea and Healthy too.
All you need is apples, firm grapes, and food picks*:
Slice an apple into wedges and trim the core.
For each apple wedge, slice 2 grapes in half, widthwise.
Push the pick through the sliced side of one grape half, then through one end of the apple, then finish with the other grape half, sliced side out.
Repeat with the other end of the apple wedge and 2 more grape slices, and they should look like little cars :)
*I used short plastic bento picks, but toothpicks would work as well - maybe break them in half. If your kidlets are a bit young to have toothpicks in their food, uncooked linguine or spaghetti noodles might be better, if the pasta was thick enough to not break in the process.
Some great variation suggestions
pears with cucumber wheels
carrot slice wheels on a cucumber car
banana wheels
cheese wheels
There are plenty of nutritious possibilities for this simple fun snack!

Arrange the pieces to look like a plane. Add halved brown M&M's for the windows, half a strawberry for a tail, and whipped cream from a can for the jet stream and the clouds. This is so cute! Again, the kids are old enough , they can help make their own.
You can use the whole oreo for each wheel or pull apart. There are mini animal crackers to use instead of the regular, larger ones. As I stated in the flannel board section, this is a favorite story at day care. You could read the story and then make the snack together.

Butterfly Love (meeththedubiens)
Excellent to use with Heart Shape and Bbutterflies and Valentine's Day.
I thought some cute little heart-shaped butterflies would make a cute little Valentine's lunch. This lunch was really simple and the kiddos thought it was really fun. It doesn't have to take a lot of time or effort to make a fun lunch for your kiddos. This lunch took under 5 minutes to make. Here's how I made this lunch:
Larger butterfly is made cutting hearts out of tortillas with ham and cheese in them. I used a cheesestring for the body, with fruit leather hearts on the wings and sprinkles for the eyes and antennae. The smaller butterfly has a carrot body and uses heart-shaped muffin silicone cups for the wings. The cups are filled with sliced apples and crinkle cut cucumbers.

Painted Butterfly Hot Dogs (by gourmetmomonthego.com)
This is soooo cute. I can't wait to make it. Easy & Fun. More pics below.
Painted Butterfly Hot Dogs
Ingredients:
Hot Dogs
Refrigerator biscuits (like Grands or any brand)
1 egg
water
food coloring
pretzel sticks
cheese, ketchup, or mustard (for the face)
small paintbrushes
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly spray a cookie sheet or cake pan. Give each child two biscuits and a hot dog.
Help them cut each biscuit in half, turn one half over, and place on pan as the "wings". Repeat with the other biscuit.
Lay the hot dog on top of the biscuits. Time to paint!
To make paints, put one egg and one tablespoon water in a small bowl and mix well. Pour a small amount of egg mixture in several bowls (however many colors you want) and add a drop or two of different food colorings. We went with blue, purple, and orange. One egg made plenty of paint, but if you have a big group of kids, you may want to use two.
Give each child a clean paintbrush and let them paint their "butterfly wings".
Bake at 350 for about 10 minutes, until biscuits are golden brown. Add two pretzel sticks for antannae and either ketchup/mustard/cheese/whatever you want for two eyes and mouth. Serve with a side of your favorite vegetable and dinner's ready!

Butterfly Biscuits
1 can Pillsbury Grands Biscuits, any flavor
3-4 T. Strawberry Jam
Grated Orange peel from one orange
Colored Sugar (optional)
Whipped cream (I used the stuff in the spray can)
Strawberries, sprinkles, licorice strings for garnish
Preheat oven to 350. Spray cookie sheet w/ cooking spray. Open biscuits and carefully seperate them into two layers. Spread about 1/2 tsp. jam between layers then press back together, pinching the edges to seal. Cut biscuits in half and pinch edges to make sure they are sealed. Place two halves together on baking sheet, with rounded edges touching. Repeat with remaining biscuits. Spread a slight amount of jam on the top of each butterfly and sprinkle with orange peel and colored sugar. Bake 12-15 minutes, until lightly browned. Cool slightly then transfer to a plate where you can garnish with whipped cream "bodies", licorice "antenne", and chocolate sprinkle (or mini-chocolate chip) "eyes". Enjoy!

Corn Dog Bumble Bee (by hungryhappenings.com)
Ingredients:
5 frozen corn dogs
black paste food coloring* *purchase black paste food coloring at a cake, candy or craft supply store
10 corn tortilla chips
10 chow mein noodles
Special equipment needed:
1" wide sponge roller or small paint brush
non-stick aluminum foil or parchment paper
disposable plate
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with non-stick aluminum foil or parchment paper.
Unwrap the corn dogs and set on a piece on non-stick aluminum foil or parchment paper. Pour some black coloring onto a disposable plate. Roll sponge brush into coloring and roll coloring onto each corn dog to create two stripes (or use a paint brush to paint 4-5 stripes on the corn dog. If using a paint brush pour the coloring onto a plate. Do not put the brush directly into the jar of coloring then onto the corn dog or you can contaminate the coloring.)
Paint eyes and a smile onto each corn dog.
Set corn dogs on the lined baking sheet.
Bake corn dogs according to package instructions. I don't recommend using the microwave, as the corn bread coating will be too soft to hold the tortilla chip wings in place.
Remove corn dogs from oven.
Press two corn tortilla chips into the middle of each corn dog bee, to create it's wings. Add two chow mein noodles above the bee's eyes to create it's antenna.
Serve hot. If you are serving these at a party, bake the corn dogs according to the package instructions then add the wings and antenna and return to a 200 degree oven to keep warm until ready to serve. Do not bake at 350 degrees with the corn chips and chow mein noodles attached as they will burn.

A dolphin sandwich cutter. The dolphins are joined by some goldfish friends. The cucumbers are "starfish" resting on carrots. The thin layer of blue jello serves, obviously, more for theme design than nourishment lol. I just poured the jello straight into their lunchboxes the night before so it would set flat in the refrigerator. The sailboat is an orange slice (from a cutie) with cheese sail speared on with a toothpick.

Nursery Rhymes & Mother Goose
Humpty Dumpty Sat on A Wall (by Meet the Dubiens)
I absolutely adore this one - and so did the kids! In retrospect, I probably shouldn't have photographed a white egg on a white plate, but you get the idea. I thought of this idea while reading nursery rhymes to the kids. So simple, and it was really fun to make. Here's how I made it:
Humpty Dumpty - hard boiled egg - I used my food safe markers to draw on his face. I used matchstick carrots for his limbs and I stuck a food pick in the top for a hat - although it makes him look a little girly because I think it's really a bow.
Brick wall - peanut butter sandwich cut into rectangle. I used fruit leather to make the bricks.
The sun is a circle of cheese with matchstick carrots and the grass is sliced celery. (written by Jill)
Very Time Consuming.

Humpty Dumpty Fell Off His Sandwich (by kitchenfunwithmy3sons.com)
We used 2 pieces of bread, peanut butter and jelly, 1 large marshmallow, and 2 mini chocolate chips.
Make any kind of sandwich...we made pb&j. Cut off the crust to make a square. We cut our red apple in half. Peel off the top part of the apple so it looks like he is wearing pants. Use the scraps to make the arms, legs, and mouth. Make slits in the apple to push in the arms and legs. Attach the hands, feet, eyes, etc...with peanut butter. We cut a large marshmallow in half and cut around the edges for his eyes. We used 2 mini chocolate chips for the pupils. You could also use raisins.
We had lots of fun making this and it's pretty easy to do!

Humpty Dumpty Fell Off a WALLful (by kitchenfunwithmy3sons.com)
This is a very easy and simple breakfast that the kids will love. We used 1 hard boiled egg, 2 square waffles, and 1 piece of turkey bacon.
Take the hard boiled egg and cut it in half. Place your square waffles on the plate. Put one half of the egg on top of the waffle. Put the other half about half way down and cut it into a zig zag down the middle. Take your cooked bacon and and cut out arms, legs, and the face with kitchen scissors. The perfect breakfast to have the kids make themselves!

Humpty Dumpty sat on a S'mores pop! (by kitchenfunwithmy3sons.com)
we thought it would be cute to make Humpty out of a marshmallow sitting on a s'mores. We used 1 large marshmallow, 2 small marshmallows, 1 chocolate graham cracker, 2 square marshmallows (the made for s'mores kind), chocolate cookie frosting, red Twizzler strings, and edible eye balls.
We broke our large graham cracker in half. We squeezed some chocolate cookie frosting on the insides for the marshmallows to stick. You could also use melted chocolate. Put on 2 square marshmallows and pop it in the microwave for just 5 to 7 seconds. Just enough to puff it up just a little...do not melt it. Stick in on the lollipop stick with enough sticking out to add the large marshmallow.
Take the large marshmallow and poke 4 holes with a tooth pick to add the arms and legs. Take a Twizzler string and break off 4 small pieces...a inch and a half or so. Push them in the large marshmallow for the arms and legs. Cut the 2 small marshmallows in half and push those into the twizzler strings for the hands and feet. You can snip the hands to make fingers. Add the edible eye ball (or mini chocolate chips) with the chocolate cookie frosting and add a small piece of the Twizzler string for the mouth with the frosting. Pop Humpty on the top and then you are done!
This is what it looks like from the side...

The Cow Jumped Over the Moon (by Meet the Dubiens)
To make the cow I took 2 white tortillas and using my scissors, cut out a cow shape. I cut the head separately. Then I filled the tortilla with lunchmeat and cheese. I used a whole banana as the moon. I think it worked perfectly. I used food safe markers to draw on the cow's spots, and the cow has cute little icing eyes. I used my tiny bento cutters from All Things for Sale to cut out the tiny details on the cow (udders, cow bell, ears, etc.) and also to cut out the cheese stars on the plate. I used fruit leather and cheese for the details

Spaghetti Lady (be Meet the Dubiens)
This was really easy to put together - the longest part was cooking the pasta. I'll definitely be making this one often. My kids can not get enough pasta.Make a spaghetti lady for your little ones, I guarantee they'll love it! Here's how I put it all together.
Spaghetti lady: bread cut into a circle for face, cucumber and blueberry eyes, sliced cherry tomato nose, sauce lips, cheesestring body and cherry tomato arms (and yes, these are arms, lol!). The hair is of course spaghetti and sauce.

"Double Dip” Ice Cream Cone Sandwich (The Family Kitchen)
ICE CREAM SANDWICH
I scream, You scream, We all scream for Ice Cream
For the “Double Dip” Ice Cream Cone:
• 1 slice white bread
• 1 slice pumpernickel bread
• 1 slice whole wheat bread
• Snippets of colored veggies
• Carrot
• Sandwich filling
Remove crusts from all bread and then cut each slice of bread in half. Fold like pieces of bread together. Cut a large triangular shape for the cone from the whole wheat bread. Cut an ice cream “dip” from white bread, as shown with a drippy bottom. You will need to cut the top of the “cone” to the shape of your white Dip, just cutting away a tiny amount so the fit is good. Cut a second Dip from the pumpernickel in the same manner. Adjust the top of the white dip to fit the bottom of the dark Dip, as shown. All pieces should align nicely.
Fill all sandwich pieces with desired filling and set in place on the plate. Cut thin strips of carrot to form the cross hatching on the cone. Cut pieces to fit. Now cut little snippets of different colored veggies to make “sprinkles” to add to the top of the ice cream. We used radish, celery, yellow pepper and orange pepper. Use whatever veggies you have on hand. Finish by garnishing the plate with extra little sprinkles

Beachy Dessert Recipe
What you'll need:
Instant Vanilla pudding
Milk (per instructions on pudding)
Vanilla wafers (cookies)
Ziploc bag, freezer or storage
Rolling pin
Miniature umbrellas (find at party supply store)
Small bounce balls (to look like a beach ball)
Clear plastic drinking cups
How to make it:
Follow the directions on the package of instant vanilla pudding.
Divide the pudding between the clear plastic drinking cups (box directions will give you number of servings).
Place cups in refrigerator.
Place vanilla wafers in Ziploc bag. Break the wafers up a bit.
Use the rolling pin to roll the wafers into very small pieces.
Sprinkle the sand across the top of all the cups. You will want about 1/4" of sand on top of the pudding.
Place back in refrigerator until time to serve.
At party time, remove cups from refrigerator, add a small bounce ball and an opened miniature umbrella to the cup.
*(***I do not like the idea about the bouncey ball-maybe for older children only)
How to make it: Tips: A large shooter marble, as pictured, may be used - however this is recommended only for older children as it does present a choking hazard. A suitable alternative would be to use a fruit roll up to represent a beach towel.

Edible Paints Recipe (by DIY & Pagingfunmums.com)
Condensed Milk
Food Coloring
Toothpicks
New Paint Brushes
Simply poor out the Condensed Milk into some small containers or an Ice Cube tray and stir in some color.
There is a sugar cookie recipe at the link below or use your own or even store bought cookie dough. I am going to use wrap and cut out a 3 layer cake shape (similar to a wedding cake pic) for birthdays and have the children color their own cake. I will add pics later. I am also going to have the kids decorate a large, premade cookie to decorate for Mother's Day or Father's Day or even a parents birthday.

Peanut Butter Puppies
You'll need:
Nutter Butter Cookies
2 white chocolate chips per cookie*
1 large milk or dark chocolate chip per cookie*
1 caramel square per cookie
black food coloring marker
small dab of creamy peanut butter per cookie
knife
cutting board
*I used Nestle White Morsels and Kroger Private Selection Milk Chocolate Chips. Callebaut Chocolate Callets are also a good size. You just want to make sure that the chips you use for the puppy noses are larger than the chips you use for the eyes.
Instructions:
Use a sharp knife to cut off the tips of your white chocolate chips. Draw pupils onto each white chip using a black food coloring marker.
Cut the tips off the milk chocolate chips.
Cut your caramels in half and form each half into a dog ear. If you prefer, you can roll the caramels out using a rolling pin and cut them into ear shapes, discarding the excess caramel. These will be lighter and easier to use if you need to move your puppies around a bit.
Use creamy peanut butter to adhere your decorations to your cookie.
That's it. Aren't they sweet?

Pinto Pony Sandwich (by Ziggity Zoom)
How sweet is this Pinto Pony? Little girls and boys will equally appreciate this fun sandwich. This is another perfect opportunity to do a “Make Your Own Sandwich” party. You can make the pony’s spots out of contrasting bread or some veggie circles.
For the Pinto Pony:
3 slices bread
Celery sticks
Radish slice (eye)
Yellow pepper
Orange pepper
Carrot sticks
Sandwich filling
Stack two slices of bread and then cut out a large rectangle for the pony body. Cut the third slice in half and cut out the pony head/neck. From the top “pony body” section, cut out three small round circles. You can use a straw with a large opening to cut the circles or another small container with an appropriate sized opening. Use the straw to cut a corresponding size piece of bread (contrasting) or a veggie for the spots. Add sandwich filling to pony sandwich and then add the spots.
Arrange on plate. Add celery sticks for legs and then cut out ears, mane and tail from the peppers. Cut a thin slice of radish for the eye, making a smaller “eye” from carrot to top this. Make a tiny nostril from celery. Garnish with tiny pieces of carrot sticks.

Porcupine Burger
Porcupine Burger
We made these cute little porcupine burgers using hamburger buns, Bocca burgers, provolone cheese, barbecue sauce, and pretzel sticks.
We made our burgers and put them on the bun. Break off the tops of the pretzel sticks and put on the top of the bun. Cut the edge off of the cheese and put the rest on the burger. Take the cheese edge and cut 2 small circles for the eyes. We used barbecue sauce for the pupils and nose. You could also just pull off 2 very small pieces of the burger (or raisins) for the pupils if your kids do not like barbecue sauce.
This is the easiest burger to make and the kids thought it was amazing!

From the scrap bun, cut out 2 ears and place them at the top. The eyes are sliced blackberries, the nose is sliced bologna and the mouth is slivered almonds. Raspberries and blackberries for garnish

5. Still using your knife and your leftover baby carrot, slice 2 small triangles and place these in the middle of the crackers for the owl’s nose.
6. Using either your kitchen knife, or a small circle cutter if you have one, cut 4 small circles out of your slice of mozzarella cheese. Place 2 on each of your owls for their eyes.
7. dip your toothpick in some black gel food colouring and dot it on the mozzarella circles for the eyes.
8. Finally, using your kitchen knife and your slice of marble cheese, cut 4 larger triangles for the wings, and 4 smaller triangles for the ears. Place a set of 2 wings and 2 ears on each owl cracker.
If you have a kiddo who loves owls, like I do, they will surely love this easy and nutritious snack!
